Good backdrop for doing standard school portraits. It doesn't reflect light, and has a nice gradient of neutral colors. Good size, easy to use with my backdrop stands. Produces great results.
THIS IS LIGHT WEIGHT. WRINKLES EASY TO REMOVE. GREAT FOR HEAD SHOTS.
I'm a photographer and I don't shoot in the studio that much but I really like this Charcoal Gray backdrop.I really like the hand-painted look and feel, the quality is really good and like most backdrop is a bit wrinkled but nothing a little ironing can fix.
For a light weight backdrop, this is a solid buy. It's competitively priced, is attractive, and gets the job done. I really like the design for a classic neutral grey background. On the other hand, because it's so light, this backdrop is mostly appropriate indoors as it is very sensitive to wind - for this same reason it means that you probably wouldn't be able to use a fan inside if AC is not available. The backdrop is a little on the small side, so this means that it's most appropriate for tighter shots and only one or couple of people, and certainly groups of more than 3 or 4 are out. The sowing for where you insert tripod rods are solid and the overall construction and quality seem quite good. It's a good basic backdrop for one or two person shoots and your goal is to keep the overall weight of your gear bags to a minimum.
I was under the impression the backdrop was going to be thicker. I knew I was in trouble when it arrived folded in a 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" plastic package. It has creases, so it will have to be ironed before you use it. Unfortunately, I ended up getting one that is defective with a fleck right near the middle of it.We have a green screen set up and the background stand isn‘t taken down. I have no intention of readjusting it and thought I could just hang this backdrop from the clamps at the top and have it hang flat, but unfortunately, it won't be as simple as that. It has to be secured at the sides to be completely flat, which for me means I will have to get out one of my smaller backdrop frames and set it up.The material is thin, so if you're near a window in the daytime, light will come through the back of it. That could be a plus for effect, but if your intention is for a darker gray background, you will need to put a dark background behind it. I also had the window open, and the backdrop was moving with the breeze. The design looked more marbled in the picture online, but not in person. This just wasn't what I was looking for in an alternate backdrop, and I just thought it would be better quality for the price point.
